We’re at Ferguson Marine today, fighting to defend our members’ interests. It is the workers who are best placed to shape the future of shipbuilding on the lower Clyde. Whoever owns the yard, the workers need a seat at the table on decisions affecting their livelihoods.
There is a wealth of experience and skills among the workforce at Ferguson Marine. Whether under the ownership of the @scotgov or current management, the workers who know their industry inside and out need to have a seat at the table in discussions affecting their livelihoods.
GMB Scotland Secretary Gary Smith receiving a briefing in Aberdeen today from our Organiser Mel on the work of @AREGtweet. Really interesting developments on renewables, including with hydrogen for transport. There are 2 hydrogen refuelling facilities now in Aberdeen.

"Our members who deliver the services are at breaking point". Gary Smith spoke to @BBCJohnBeattie today about the challenges facing Glasgow after a decade of cuts and managed decline. We need a new deal for Glasgow to get the respect our members and this city deserve.
GMB Scotland’s Michael Sullivan addressing today’s #ReadyForRenewal demo outside the offices of @EDF_Renewables. Michael told a community meeting 2 weeks ago that he was “battle weary”, but he’s leading the fight to bring renewables jobs to the yards in Fife.
Grateful to @MaritimeUnionAU for this letter of solidarity ahead of today's #ReadyForRenewal demonstration at @EDF_Renewables' office in Edinburgh. There will be no just transition, in Scotland or anywhere else, without the guarantee of good union jobs in renewables.
