Care workers were ringing the alarm from day one about their fears for their own safety and the safety of residents. They had to fight for basic PPE and for regular testing. GMB Scotland members in the NHS and local government are being balloted over pay offers that don't amount to much more than a £10 per week rise. At today's demo, @GMBGarySmith urged members to vote reject and fight for a proper pay rise for those delivering our public services.
With #STUC21 kicking off today, GMB Scotland members from across Scotland’s public services - workers in social care, nursing, refuse, ambulance and school support services - stood together to send a collective message to the Scottish Government: “We’re worth more”.
